downloading theme

You can download Theme from its module page at the ToME site. The current version is compatible with the 2.3.3 version of the T-Engine.

installing theme

To install Theme, simply unpack the contents of the .zip file. You should end up with a directory called 28__theme - inside it will be another directory, named simply theme. Copy this entire directory into lib/mods under your ToME directory. When you next run ToME, you will be given a choice between ToME and Theme in the first screen.

downloading theme graphics

Theme now comes with a full tileset for all the new objects, terrain features, and monsters. The pref files that are distributed with the module are already set up to work with the new tileset, all you need to do is download the tileset itself. There are 8x8 tiles and 16x16 tiles available, though the 8x8 tileset uses ASCII characters for all monsters instead of using tiles. You can download the tileset here - it will work with both the 2.2.7 and the 2.3.0(CVS) versions of ToME.

using theme graphics

Unpack the contents of the graf.zip file, there will be three files there: 16x16.bmp, 8x8.bmp, and mask.bmp. Place all three files into xtra/graf under the main ToME directory - not in the Theme directory, otherwise the graphics will not map properly. The graphics file will work fine with any module, including the standard and official ToME, because the graphics mapping is done by the pref files in the /pref/ folder, not by the .bmp file itself.
